  • How do I pay for my order?
    Regular EFT One option is to pay by "Regular EFT" which is still one of the most common payment methods in South Africa. If you choose this option at checkout, you will receive an order confirmation email with our bank details and the reference number to use. We'll get to work on your order as soon as we receive your payment in our account which can sometimes take till the next business day. Note: We bank with FNB so if you do as well, we should get your EFT payment instantly. Yoco - Credit Card, Cheque Card, or Debit Card We also partner with Yoco, one of South Africa's leading secure payment processors to offer a number of additional payment methods, including credit/cheque cards (Mastercard or Visa) and debit cards. Yoco is selected by default at checkout. When you choose to use it, you're redirected to Yoco's secure website and then you can select which of these specific payment methods you want to use. Most Yoco payments clear instantly.
  • Single Origin vs. Blend
    Coffee from a specific estate is known as single-origin coffee. Coffee from a specific region is referred to as coffee of origin. When coffees from different estates, regions and/or countries are mixed to achieve a certain characteristic it is called a coffee blend. Blending also offers a way to ensure constant aroma and taste during times of erratic supply of preferred coffee.
  • Do you deliver?
    We partner with some of South Africa's leading courier companies. They will deliver your order directly to you. Please make sure that all the address and contact details you've provided us are correct to ensure they can get to you quickly! Please remember to add your contact details so if need be – they can get hold of you.
  • Can I collect my order to avoid a delivery charge?
    Absolutely! Please do come and visit us at our Shop and get yourself a Cappuccino while you are there 😊 Our Address is: 56 Tarentaal Street, Joostenberg Vlakte - Shop 4, Cape Garden Centre (We are Inside the Nursery opposite Bugz Play Park). Business hours Monday to Friday 09:00 - 16:30 and Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays 09:00 - 15:00. You just need to select the collection option on the cart page before checking out. This will ensure you don't pay for delivery. We will then alert you when the order is ready for collection.
  • Is the Coffee Beans or Ground?
    Both - we really believe that to enjoy coffee at its best, you need to grind it right before you brew. Pre-ground coffee loses its flavour incredibly quickly whereas whole beans can stay fresh for a few weeks. We do however understand that not everyone has access to grinders so we grind the coffee per method of brewing. Most of the brewing methods (equipment you use to make your coffee) require different size ground coffee. We have our pre-set of grind sizes, so you can just let us know what you use to make your coffee and we will do the rest.
  • How fresh is fresh?
    We roast to order. This means that the coffee you get is as old as long it takes to get to you. We truly believe coffee is best enjoyed fresh!
  • What is the coffee pouch sizes?
    In our original packaging we can offer 250g and 1Kg (Beans or Ground) and alternatively we can package just about any size you require. A lot of our corporate clients order 80g bags perfectly suited for the Queen filter machines in order to avoid wastage in large environments.   • Difference between Arabica and Robusta
    The coffee plant Coffea is a genus of the Rubiaceae family. The two main species from which most commercial coffees come are Coffea arabica and Coffea Canephora. The latter, also called Robusta, has far less of the desirable flavours as do Arabica, despite its better resistance to pests and diseases and its higher yield. Robusta makes up less than 30% of the world’s coffee production and is primarily used as a blend in soluble (instant) coffee. It has more caffeine than Arabica. Arabica, making up 70% of the world’s coffee production, grows best at high altitudes of between 1 000 meters and 2 500 meters and around the equator between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Arabica has many varieties of which typica and bourbon are the most distinct and well-known. It thrives on loamy, volcanic soil rich in nitrogen, potash and phosphoric acid. The plant develops lush, evergreen foliage as a small shrub or can grow as high as 18 meters if not pruned to make harvesting easier. It bears green fruit, called berries, after four to five years and remains productive for 20 to 25 years if properly tended to. These green berries, which replace the jasmine-scented flowers which last only a couple of days, turn into cherries after several months. Once ripe and red, they are ready for picking.
  • What determines the flavour?
    The flavour of coffee is determined by various factors, including the species and variety, the terroir, climate and altitude where it is grown, the care taken during picking, and whether the beans have been wet-processed or dry-processed. Some critics say that dry-processed coffee is inferior to wet-processed coffee. Yet many coffee lovers enjoy Ethiopia’s earthy, smooth and full-bodied coffees which are mostly dry-processed.
  • What does acidity in coffee refer to?
    Acidity in coffee refers to sharpness in taste detected towards the front of the mouth and it denotes quality as expected from coffee grown at high altitudes.
